HAIDY Home Features

Heating control

Heating control enables independent regulation in separate heating zones (rooms). There are four types of heating zones which can be controlled by the HAIDY Home system: hot-water radiators, hydronic underfloor heating, electrical convection heaters (convector heaters, electrical radiators) and electrical floor heating (heating mats).
There can be up to 21 separate heating zones, while various types can be combined in any way. Each heating zone may contain one or more heating elements. The only exceptions are hot water radiators, as each radiator works as a separate heating zone. In each zone a wall-mounted thermometer is placed, which measures the current temperature in the zone. For electric underfloor heating it is also possible to control heating according to the temperature measured in the floor, which is particularly suitable when using flooring that can be damaged by excessive heat.
For each heating zone there are five heating modes – economy, standard, comfort, public holiday and vacation. Temperatures for the individual modes in the corresponding zones can be set according to your requirements. These modes can be activated either manually or automatically via timing programs. The daily time programme can manage up to six time periods, for which it is possible to choose from the following modes: economy, standard and comfort. The vacation mode is a round-the-clock mode and is particularly recommended when you are leaving a building for a long period of time. The special ‘Public Holiday’ mode sets such conditions as are defined for Sunday. It is used as an exception to regular time programmes. Czech public holidays are predefined and automatically activated; another four can be set by the user.

Security systems

Security systems ensure the protection of a house or apartment against intruders and fire. Using PIR spatial motion sensors and magnetic contact switches on windows and doors, intrusions into a building can be detected. Detectors of smoke and high temperature will alert you to the danger of fire. The control unit is backed up by a battery, so the system remains operational even during power cuts. The indoor or outdoor alarm alerts you in an emergency situation. Each event is then stored in the memory history. You will be notified of important events by a text message or e-mail; Alarm Response Centre communication is also supported.
The system offers 16 independent circuits for PIR connection or magnetic contact switches. 10 magnetic contact switches or 4 PIR motion detectors can be connected to each circuit; each circuit also enables the detection of tampering. The individual inlets may be assigned in any combination to one or more of the 7 security zones. Zones can be divided by the physical placement of connected detectors (e.g. ground floor, attic and garage) or by the type of detector (e.g. security of windows, motion detectors, fire detectors), and even in other ways, according to the user’s needs. A zone can be set as permanently active, e.g. for fire detection or the protection of valuable objects and works of art. Every inlet can be temporarily disconnected (bypass), the bypass remaining valid until its cancellation.
Security can be activated from the wall keypad by entering a code, from a contactless card, or using an exit button or web interface. Security de-activation or alarm state cancellation can only be performed with a magnetic card or by entering a code, either on the keypad or via the web interface. Security activation can be connected with the exit mode, which, after coding, puts a building in economy mode, switches off the lights and defined sockets or automatically lets down the roller blinds.

Lighting and socket control

The control of lighting and sockets allows control of all lights, including dimming. Lights can be of any type. You can control incandescent light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and halogen lights, as well as modern energy-saving LED and RGB lights and even sockets, which can also be dimmed. There are 42 independent circuits. For each circuit it is possible for the user to select whether it is to be a light or socket circuit. Every circuit can be assigned one or more switches. The reverse is also true: multiple light circuits can be assigned to one switch. Any combination is permitted. There can be up to 42 switches, and besides light and socket control these also allow the control of roller and Venetian blinds. You can use 8 lighting scenes, where a scene means a common setting for any group of lights. Lights can also be controlled on the basis of light intensity (the light is switched on if the light intensity drops below a certain level, e.g. after twilight). Lights can be switched on for only a certain period of time, which is suitable for the lighting of staircases and corridors, where the light switches off automatically after 5 minutes, for example. As with heating, lights and sockets can also be controlled using timing programs, which, for example, can be used for the simulation of presence, outdoor lighting or the disconnection of certain socket circuits in a defined time. The timing program has six time slots for every day, for each of which one of three lighting modes can be selected – on, off, and light intensity control. There are also very useful multiple functions which allow the switching off of all lights with one action. This function complements the exit mode. Lights can also be switched on and off by one button directly from the home page of the web control interface.

Control of roller and Venetian blinds

Control of blinds also allows the operation of shading elements and other drives, such as garage doors and entrance gates. There are up to 16 independent circuits. Every circuit can be set by the user in the case of blinds, garage doors or entrance gates. Every circuit can be assigned one or more control switches. The reverse is also true - multiple blind control circuits can be assigned to one switch. Any combination is permitted. There can be up to 42 switches, and besides blind control, these can also be used to control lights and switches.
For roller blinds, the up and down movement is controlled; for Venetian blinds, the tilting of the slats is also controlled. It is very easy to use one switch to control, for example, a blind and a light in one room, thanks to the multifunction switches having four buttons and being able to distinguish between a short and a long press.
As with heating, blinds can also be controlled with timing programs, which is suitable, for example, for shading at certain pre-defined times or for the simulation of presence. Multiple drawing and pulling of all blinds can be controlled by a push of only one button on the homepage of the control application, or of any switch that this function is allocated to.

Ventilation and heat recovery ventilation control

The ventilation and heat recovery ventilation control offers advanced, intelligent control. For some types of heat recovery ventilation, HAIDY can fully replace the control unit for heat recovery; the customer does not need to purchase a control module from the heat control ventilation manufacturer. This applies to the Paul and Nilan heat control ventilation, for example. Moreover, HAIDY offers functions such as automatic control by timing programs, or ventilation based on CO2 levels in the air or humidity. Another advantage is the possibility to switch easily from heat recovery mode to cooling mode or to activate anti-icing. It is also possible to control heat recovery units controlled by other means, e.g. Atrea heat recovery ventilation. However, it is necessary to leave the control unit of the heat recovery ventilation through which HAIDY controls the heat recovery. The functionality is similar to that described above, the difference being the fact that the ventilation intensity might not be continually adjustable but have to operate at levels which are pre-set in the heat recovery control unit.
The heat recovery module offers five modes of ventilation – eco, standard, comforts, public holiday and vacation. The ventilation intensity for the individual modes can be set according to your requirements. These modes can be activated either manually or automatically via timing programs. The daytime program is divided into six time sections, for each of which you select one of the modes – eco, standard or comfort. The vacation mode is round-the-clock, and this setting is particularly recommended if you are leaving the house for a long period of time. For a day defined in this way, the special ‘Public Holiday’ mode activates the same settings as for Sunday. It is used as an exception to regular time programs.

Energy measurements

Energy measurement allows the measurement of electricity, gas and water consumption. Measurements are usually taken on the energy inlet to a building and on major appliances such as heat pumps or electric boilers. Measurements can be taken at up to eight places. It is possible to monitor not only consumption but also the amount of energy produced, which can be used to monitor a photovoltaic system, for example.
The results of measurements can serve you as the basis for statistical analysis and provide information on household consumption, and this data can be used to respond to a defined event. If energy consumption overshoots the predefined level, an automatic action can be performed. For example, when significantly exceeding the preset volume limit for water consumption, the water main can be shut down; or, in the case of insufficient photovoltaic system output, a certain appliance can be turned on. If you require, you can be informed about events via SMS or e-mail.

Wireless version

The wireless version allows the use of HAIDY Home even where cabling cannot be installed. These are mostly completed buildings or places where cabling cannot be installed for technical reasons (e.g. switches on glass partitions). Wireless connection can also be used for multifunction switches, light controls, sockets and all types of heating zones.
Wireless control can only be used for controlling individual elements. All equipment such as lights, sockets and electrical radiators require mains electricity. Therefore, this version assumes that all controlled appliances have their own power supply, which will be controlled via a wireless switching element.

Control elements offer several ways of controlling individual pieces of equipment. Applications available on a computer, tablet or mobile phone allow the control of all system elements and the setting of all necessary parameters. Lighting, sockets and blinds can be also controlled via wall-mounted multifunction switches. These switches look the same as conventional ones and are available in several designs and colours. Every switch has four buttons, all of which are short- and long-press sensitive. This type of switch is usually used for controlling more lights in one room, but it is also possible to use it as a multiple controller of lights and blinds. In this way, you will manage to significantly lower the number of control elements and the controls will be intuitively and logically arranged.

Technical Solutions

Conventional “wire” version for new buildings and complete reconstructions

Link For new houses or apartments, total reconstructions and other cases that allow installation of cabling, the wire version is recommended. All HAIDY Home components are interconnected with a two-wire bus. The bus topology can be set in any way; we can ensure that its implementation is as simple and short as possible. The elements are placed either directly in the distribution board or in concealed boxes in rooms, depending on what is more favourable in terms of installation. In this way, the control and sensing elements (e.g. switches, temperature and CO2 sensors) can be connected to the cable bus in individual rooms as well as actuators controlling appliances (e.g. heating control heads, lighting and socket switches, dimmers).The main advantages of the cable bus solution are that it saves cabling and increases safety due to the fact that all control elements are supplied with a safe low voltage.

Wireless version for finished houses and apartments

Link In already finished houses, apartments and everywhere where cabling cannot be installed for any reason, use the wireless version of HAIDY Home. This version uses communication between individual elements of the HAIDY Home wireless bus.
Note: The wireless version will be available from the second quarter of 2014.

System architecture

The whole system is based on HAIDY Home software for controlling technology in intelligent buildings. This is a modified and simplified version of HAIDY Plus software which can be operated even in systems of the PLC type. In terms of technical solution, HAIDY Home is built using hardware components from Teco, which have been proven in thousands of households and industrial installations.
